I agree with the calls for Sen. Collins and Rep. Golden to hold town halls, and raise the ante to include Sen. Angus King. While he speaks of his concerns on the Senate floor, we need him to speak to us about why he is still voting to confirm the administration’s nominees.
He is astounded at the attacks on Social Security, the loss of veterans’ benefits and of the other appalling cuts this administration is implementing. Yet, he continues to vote as though he and the Democratic senators who vote to confirm nominees charged with implementing Project 2025 have no power to disrupt the process of dismantling our system of government.
As the arguably most respected politician in Maine, King seems unwilling to face us and tell us the truth about what is happening and why he continues to believe business as usual is the course of action that will save our democracy.
