As a Mainer, I am disturbed that Rep. Golden, an elected official to the House of Representatives, would vote to disenfranchise the very people they were elected to represent.
Nothing is more sacred to Americans than the right to vote. It is the bedrock of the republic. The SAVE Act requires redundant and unnecessary paperwork in order to exercise the constitutional right to vote. It’s the very definition of un-American and as such is not what Mainers stand for.
We all expect better from all our elected officials from Maine.
