DEAR SUN SPOTS: The High Street Food Pantry at the Auburn United Methodist Church at 439 Park Ave. in Auburn, has on-going need for the following items: peanut butter, toilet paper, pasta sauce, canned meats, baking items (mixes, sugar, flour, etc.), and soup.
Thank you for supporting this mission and helping local people meet their most basic needs. Please drop off your donations or contact the church office at 782-3972. — George, Auburn
ANSWER: I encourage all nonprofits with food pantries/banks to let Sun Spotters know what your needs are. Our readers have hearts of gold and are always looking for a way to help others in the community. So don’t be shy about asking. Together, we can make a difference as we keep the flow of goods and services going.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Applewald Farm at 525 Huntington Hill Road in Litchfield is again collecting donations of formal wear, street clothes, wigs, jewelry and new makeup for the Rainbow Ball which will be held the first weekend in May.
Following that, we will set up our farm stand with all the amazing surplus for anyone in the community who could use these things. Last year was so much fun with hundreds of people trying on and choosing free items which gave them joy.
If you’d like to donate, please send me a message to arrange a drop-off time on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=applewald%20farm or email [email protected].
If you’d like to volunteer to help at our give away (days and time to be determined) you can also message me. Donations can also be dropped off at Maine Family Planning in Augusta or Lewiston during regular business hours. — No name, Litchfield
