Patricia Griffin

AUBURN – Patricia Griffin, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on March 15, 1951 in Westbrook, daughter to Theodore and Dorothy (Marston) Connor. She was a kind and generous soul, giving of her time and many talents to her family, friends, and the community.

After graduation from Windham High School, she was employed by the Telephone Company for 27 years. She graduated summa cum laude from USM and walked across the stage to get her diploma along with her daughter, as they graduated together the same year. After college she was employed by the Auburn school department.

She enjoyed being with children, baking, photography, making puzzles and time with family and friends. She lived in Auburn for 43 years and attended the First Universalist Church, enjoying the fellowship and friendships made.

She loved playing guitar and singing and had written many songs and much poetry. She sang in the UU church choir for many years and was a member of CODA Chorus and the Hospice choir at Andwell. She had previously been a member of Woman in Harmony for many years.

Tricia had a heart for service and spent much of her time serving others through her baking, photography, singing, creating handmade cards and writing thoughtful notes. She also volunteered with many organizations including the Telephone Pioneers, Literacy Volunteers Androscoggin, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Trinity Jubilee Center, Andwell Hospice Services, and High Street Congregational Church food pantry. She baked dozens of desserts weekly for the Warming Center for the past year or more.

She is survived by her husband Tim Griffin; and two children, Gabe Griffin and his wife Jessica, and Anisa Griffin; granddaughter Mora; sister Phoebe Connor; sister-in-law, Diane Connor; as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents; and younger siblings, Priscilla, Pauline, and Ted Connor.

A private burial will take place with the family at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Auburn. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 4, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the First Universalist Church of Auburn, 169 Pleasant Street. Arrangements are under the care of Albert & Burpee Funeral Home & Cremation Services 253 Pine St. Lewiston, 782-7201.
