Carson Savoy singled home the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, lifting Lisbon to a 7-4 win over Sacopee Valley in a Class C South baseball game Wednesday in Lisbon.
Jayden Camp scored twice for the Greyhounds (3-1), who prevailed despite being held to four hits. JT Hoyle pitched the final two innings and was credited with the win after Cody Osmond struck out nine over five innings.
Donovan Harvey had two hits and two RBI for Sacopee Valley (1-3). Losing pitcher Keegan Thibodeau hit a double.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 15, BOOTHBAY 0: The Falcons (2-2) scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to set up a five-inning mercy rule victory over the Seahawks (0-3) in Rumford.
Mountain Valley pitcher Josh Pollis struck out 10 and allowed only two hits and two walks in five innings. Jayden Richard-Gardner was 3 for 3 at the plate with a double, two runs and three RBI. Pollis also doubled, and Tyler Warre, Kegan Jordan and Zach McLean had two hits apiece.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 7, MARANACOOK 6: The Mustangs (2-1) erased a 6-2 deficit by scoring two runs in the sixth inning and three in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Black Bears (2-2) in Monmouth.
Rory Foyt, Gavin Hall and Sam Schultz all drove in two runs for the Mustangs. Foyt and Bryce Fletcher each had two hits.
Levi Laverdiere, Monmouth’s fifth pitcher, got the win after striking out two of the three batters he faced in the top of the seventh.
Caldre Glowa scored two runs for Maranacook.
WAYNFLETE/NYA 12, ST. DOMINIC 10: The Flyers (3-1) took advantage of 10 walks in a win over the Saints (1-2) in Portland.
Kellen Gardiner, Eben Thibodeau and Cael Woelflein all had two hits for Waynflete/NYA, and Owen Beaumont drove in two runs.
Riley Daigle was 4 for 5 with three RBI for St. Dom’s. Nolan Cavers doubled and drove in two runs.
SOFTBALL
LISBON 11, SACOPEE VALLEY 7: Catcher Sophia Bowie continued to swing a hot bat, hitting a home run and a triple and driving in two runs in the Greyhounds’ (4-0) win over the Hawks (0-4) in Lisbon.
Bowie, who also scored twice, has homered in two consecutive games. Aubriana Bright hit three doubles, scored three runs and knocked in two. Ava Kottmann and Mackenzie Eaton also had two RBI each for Lisbon. Eaton also struck out 12 in 6 2/3 innings in the circle.
Emma Sanborn and Charlotte Cyr finished with two hits apiece for Sacopee Valley. Sanborn, Brianna Eastman, Brooklyn Libby and Lily Kick each hit a double.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 11, OAK HILL 8: The Falcons (3-1) scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat the Raiders (1-2) in Rumford.
Aided by three Mountain Valley errors, Oak Hill grabbed an 8-6 lead by pushing across four runs in the top of the sixth. But the hosts quickly answered, sparked by Ali Mazza’s RBI single.
Kyanah Wing doubled twice and drove in three runs for the Falcons. Maddy Brown and Kenzie Gammon each had two RBI, and Madison Blanchard scored three runs.
Izzy Whitaker went 2 for 3 with a double, two walks and two runs scored for Oak Hill. Delia Custer drove in two runs.
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 15, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Lily Fortin struck out eight while pitching a four-inning no-hitter as the Panthers (4-0) defeated the Patriots (2-2) in Yarmouth.
Fortin issued only one walk. She also had two hits and two RBI.
Jordan Nash drove in three runs, and Brooklyn Goodman was 3 for 3 with two RBI. Aurora Blier added two hits and two RBI.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 15, WINTHROP/MARANACOOK 0: Shannah Parsons struck out eight in a complete-game shutout, Rileigh Chase had three hits and four RBI, and the Mustangs mercy-ruled the Rambling Bears (1-2) in Monmouth.
Lily Palleschi and Lauren Burnham also had three hits for Monmouth (2-0), and Parsons added two singles.
OXFORD HILLS 10, MESSALONSKEE 0: Vikings ace Kyeria Morse tossed her second no-hitter of the season against the Eagles (0-4) in Oakland.
Morse struck out 15 batters and allowed only one walk. She also hit a double and two singles. Gigi DeVivo tripled and singled, and Karyssa Morse had a couple of singles for Oxford Hills. Atalie Campbell hit a two-run single in the Vikings’ four-run fourth inning.
YORK 16, POLAND 6: Maddie Fitzgerald had three hits and four RBI, Sarah Orso contributed two hits and three RBI, and the Wildcats (4-0) handled the Knights (1-3) in six innings in Poland.
Hannah Cleary added two hits and two RBI, Piper Cantonese and Maya Babcock also had two hits, and Bella Santini, Nya Avery and Maren Robinson each drove in a run for York.
Carly-Ann Jarvis led Poland with two hits.
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 11, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 10: The Phoenix’s seventh-inning rally came up one run short in a loss to the Raiders in Jay.
Hannah Murray doubled and hit a two-run single for Fryeburg (1-2), which finished with 12 hits. Delaney Forrest also had a pair of hits.
Santika Hodgkin started Spruce Mountain’s (1-2) rally in the bottom of the seventh with a leadoff home run. She also tripled and scored a couple runs for the Phoenix. Tyoaka Hodgkin drove in two runs and scored two, and Devin Bryant doubled and had two RBI.
BOYS LACROSSE
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 16, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 2: Zach Leinwand and Gavin Thomas each collected five goals and an assist, and Jack Bathe had two goals and two assists as the Panthers (3-0) handled Gray-New Gloucester/Poland (2-2) in Gray.
Tucker Nelson and Miguel Cyr scored for the 26ers.
MESSALONSKEE 12, LEWISTON 1: Landon Stewart, Ryan Parent and Malachi Cusano netted three goals apiece in the Eagles’ (3-1) victory over the Blue Devils (2-1) in Oakland.
Daymion LeBlanc added two goals and Grady Tibbetts had one for Messalonskee.
Collin Michaud scored Lewiston’s only goal, and goalie Brock Rancourt stopped 17 shots.
