Carolyn (Scott) Laverdiere

JAY – Carolyn (Scott) Laverdiere, 98, of Jay, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 16, 1926, in Kingman, Maine, the daughter of Walter and Marion (Munroe) Scott.

Carolyn was a graduate of Gardiner High School. On Oct. 26, 1946, in Gardiner, she married Armand Laverdiere of Livermore Falls. They enjoyed 50 years together before his passing on May 26, 1997.

Carolyn worked as a teller at Livermore Falls Trust for several years but mostly devoted her time to her family and home. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the V.F.W. Post 3335 Auxiliary. Carolyn loved spending time at their family camp on Brettuns Pond, reading and playing cards.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Greene of Jay; six grandchildren, Pat Couture and wife Donna, Carrie Marquis and husband Armand, Erin Stevens and husband Donald, Amy Laverdiere, Donna Crippin and husband Loren, and Zack Dewar and companion Emma; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her siblings, Walter, Esther, Jack, and Robert; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her nephew Bernie Laverdiere and wife Penny and niece Debbie Henry and husband Roger, for all the visits and help they provided over the years.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; son Donald “Butch” Laverdiere, daughter, Paula Couture; siblings, Beulah, Stella, Frances, Andy, and Tom.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
