LEWISTON — Casey Peacock and her sister, Ali, just signed a lease to take over the 179-seat restaurant and bar space formerly occupied by Cowbell Grill & Tap at 49 Lisbon Street. The new addition to downtown Lewiston will be aptly named The Blue Feather.

Casey Peacock was the general manager at Side By Each Brewing until it closed in December and her sister also worked there the last year it was open, so they are familiar faces to former patrons of the brewery and pub.

The Peacock sisters have worked in the hospitality industry for most of their adult lives and say they are very excited about opening their own place.

The Blue Feather will be Maine casual but slightly upscale.

“Our goal is to have top-notch service with good food, good drinks and a welcoming environment where everybody can feel welcome,” Casey Peacock told The Buzz on Monday morning, adding they want it to be affordable.

The menu is a work in progress, but Sundays will be brunch-forward with abbreviated hours. The Peacocks said The Blue Feather’s hours will likely be 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

New floors are installed and fresh paint is already on the walls of the main dining area.

The Peacocks have applied for city and state licenses to offer a full bar and if all goes well they hope to open in early summer.
