DEAR SUN SPOTS: Members of Mu Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma, cordially thank all educators, including all administrators and support staff, for their commitment to the young people with whom they work every day. In these changing times, every day they face new challenges which they must meet with expertise and thoughtful care.

Mu Chapter members thank them, not only during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, but also throughout the school year. We appreciate their efforts to care for the many needs of our young people today.

We hope Sun Spots readers will take time out of their own busy lives to thank at least one of these special people, who puts aside their own personal challenges to arrive at their jobs every morning with smiles on their faces, ready to give loving care to the students. We know from experience how much a text message, a note, a phone call, or a small gift can mean. We all need to feel appreciated! — Mu Chapter members, no town

ANSWER: As old as I am, I still remember the special teachers I had in my life who made all the difference in the world to me. If you have a story about a special teacher(s) in your life, I would love to hear it. Meanwhile, please take a moment to thank the teachers in your lives right now.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A public supper will be served Saturday, May 17, at 5 p.m. at the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (“Green Church”), 163 Main St. The menu will consist of baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, pineapple sauce, and rolls, with pie for dessert, all for $13 a plate.

The church dining room entrance is on Mitchell Street, as well as an entrance for those who wish to use the elevator. Takeout will be available at 5:30 p.m. and can be ordered by calling the church at 364-8603. Wait for the beep to leave a message and include your name, phone number, and preferred choice of pie.

ANSWER: This sounds delicious! Thank you for all the work you do to make this happen.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a need for an electrician in the Lewiston-Auburn area who will come for a small job. We’ve checked all the breakers but one outlet is no longer live; and three basement lights, which are controlled by one switch, dimmed while they were on today as though they were on a dimmer switch, which they are not.

It’s a puzzlement and one we would like to resolve before turning those lights on again.

Thank you for any help you, or your faithful readers, can provide. We’re so glad that you and your column are still available to Sun Journal customers! — Connie, Lewiston
