To the Editor:
We are offering free lilacs – you dig! I’ve traveled roads in America and other places like our northern neighbor, Canada. As I’ve driven along these roads, in some places, people have grown flowers alongside the road for my eyes to enjoy.
When Marsha and I bought a house in Oxford, I realized that it did not have flowers for people to enjoy when they drove down Main Street. Well, I gathered up some flowering plants from here, there, and elsewhere. Some of my lilacs came from across from Hannaford, where there once was an old house. At that time, you could drive by in the spring and see them.
Yet now I have grown so many, I have 30 feet of lilac hedge, well grown with many small plants on the sides. Actually, I have over 200 feet of flowering lilacs. I need to pass on or cut down 30 feet of lilacs. So if anyone is interested in coming and digging their own lilacs, please call Nick or Marsha at 207-539-4631 and make an appointment to dig lilacs.
And also, when you go by 403 Main Street, you may enjoy the flowering plants that bloom from spring to fall.
