Bernard

Bernard is a senior cat who was brought to us as a stray. Estimated to be around 12 years old, Bernard is one of the sweetest cats at our shelter, which has made him a staff and visitor favorite. Upon arrival, Bernard was low weight and slightly matted, but he quickly put on weight and loved to be brushed by staff. We quickly noticed that he drank quite a bit of water daily, which could be the first indication of a diabetic cat, and sure enough, after some testing, we found out Bernard is diabetic.

We understand this will be a hard obstacle for Bernard to overcome. Not only do senior cats often get overlooked, but being a diabetic as well, it will be hard for him to find a forever home. We hope this helps Bernard in finding the journey to his new adopter or adopters, where he can live out his golden years. He is a loyal companion and would do well with all ages of children, other cats, and dogs. Bernard requires a twice-daily insulin injection and a special diet of prescription food. Please give us a call to chat more about Bernard’s needs living as a diabetic cat.

Travis

This sweet, loving boy is Travis. Travis is an affectionate companion, and you can rely on his loyalty. He would be a good fit in most homes. Travis has shown us that he loves to meet new people, but he has been skeptical of meeting other dogs. He may need a slow introduction to other dogs and animals, but we’re certain he will make fast friends. Travis is a 4-year-old terrier mix, full of playful energy and always up for an adventure.

One thing adopters should know about Travis is that he had a surgery that needed a small part of his intestine taken out because he ate a very small toy. This may sound scary, but Travis can still live a very normal life. He eats his food with no problem, and although we keep toys that can be easily destroyed away from him, he stays busy with his hard boys, which he loves! Travis is ready for his final adventure in his forever home.
