DEAR SUN SPOTS: It’s that time of year again to remind you of the upcoming “7 Mile Yard Sale” sponsored by the Heywood Club on Crockett Ridge in Norway. This event will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

We are accepting donations at the clubhouse starting on May 25. All items will be accepted except electronics, large furniture and appliances.

There will also be many other sales going on in the neighborhood including a large one on Pleasant Street with several vendors raising money for the Caring Hearts group.

The yard sale will be held rain or shine so get ready to come find some exceptional bargains. Call Beth Abbott, chairwoman, for more information or to drop off donations at 461-2334  See you all on the 14th!—Barbara Norway

ANSWER: There sure are a lot of worker bees in Sun Spots Land and we are glad for it! Spring/Summer Fundraiser Season is upon us so make the most of it. Attend these great events, donate your no longer needed items, and volunteer. There are so many opportunities to make a difference in your community. Share your gifts, skills, and your time with your neighbors, even if it’s just an hour here and there.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m asking Sun Spotters for their favorite potluck recipes that would feed about 20 people. I am planning a party for the end of June and want it to be eclectic, homey, and relaxing for everyone, including me!

Please share your recipes or just your ideas. I really appreciate it. — Nora, no town

ANSWER: It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with. It does really take the pressure off the host and guests to be casual, come as you are, and bring the foods you enjoy preparing and sharing.
