Josh Pollis pitched a one-hitter as Mountain Valley earned a victory over one of the top baseball teams in Class C South by blanking Lisbon 4-0 on Wednesday in Rumford.

Pollis walked three and had eight strikeouts. He also singled and scored a run.

Ty Warren doubled and had an RBI, and Kegan Jordan also drove in a run for the Falcons (4-5).

Cody Osmond had the Greyhounds’ (7-2) only hit. He also pitched four innings, allowing three unearned runs, striking out five and walking two. Osmond and reliever Lincoln Matthews (two innings, three strikeouts) limited Mountain Valley to four hits.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 3, MADISON 1: A three-run third inning propelled the Mustangs (8-2) past the Bulldogs (6-4) in Monmouth.

Jake Harmon doubled and drove in two runs.

Levi Laverdiere pitched a three-hit complete game, allowing one run and striking out seven.

Jayden Horton went six innings on the mound for Madison, allowing three hits, recording five strike outs and walking two. Jaeson Almeida drove in the Bulldogs’ run in the fifth inning.

CARRABEC 17, RANGELEY 7: Wyatt Smith’s three hits, two runs and four RBI led the Cobras (4-5) to a five-inning victory over the Lakers (0-9) in North Anson.

Smith doubled and had two singles. Logan Caldwell doubled twice and finished with four hits to go along with three runs and two RBI. Colton Scheve and Jackson Newton also drove two runs.

Zack Davis (3 2/3 innings, five strikeouts) and Newton (1 1/3 innings, two strikeouts) combined to hold Rangeley to one hit, a single by Ryder Sargent.

YORK 8, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 4: Connor Fell had a double and a single while driving in two runs for the Wildcats (8-2) in a victory over the Patriots (6-6) in York.

Robbie Hanscom also had two hits for York, while Elliot Prince and Henry Ober each singled and notched an RBI.

Griffin Richmond recorded two hits and an RBI for Gray-New Gloucester. Jacob Mulry doubled and drove in a run, and Isaac Dunn and Carter Davis each had a single and an RBI.

EDWARD LITTLE 3, BREWER 0: Max Kimble pitched a one-hit shutout for the Red Eddies (5-7) in their road win over the Witches (6-6) in Brewer.

Kimble struck out nine batters and walked three in seven innings on the mound.

Edward Little’s Blake Chamberlain went 2 for 2 with a double and a run. Isaac Jalbert and Max Nelson both doubled and drove in a run, Breccan Albert had an RBI and TJ Kramarz tripled and scored a run.

Logan Littlefield had Brewer’s only hit.

SOFTBALL

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 10, MADISON 0: Evelyn Pelletier gave up one hit and struck out five batters to lead the Mustangs (10-0) to a five-inning win over the Bulldogs in Monmouth.

Rileigh Chase had two hits, including a two-run double, for Monmouth Academy.

Madison falls to 1-8.

ST. DOMINIC 12, VALLEY 1: Maddie Andrews pitched a two-hitter, struck out six and walked two in the Saints’ (8-3) five-inning win over the Cavaliers (5-5) in Auburn.

Andrews also doubled and had two singles while driving in three runs. Chloe Croteau doubled and had two RBI. and Kassidy Cote also drove in a couple runs for St. Dom’s, which has won five straight games.

Madeline Hill had both of Valley’s hits and pitched all four innings.

YORK 12, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Nya Avery and Lindsay Rivers each had three hits, Hannah Cleary hit a two-run home run and the Wildcats (12-0) handled the Patriots (3-8) in five innings in York.

Maddie Fitzgerald and Piper Catanese each chipped in two hits and two RBI, Sarah Orso hit an RBI double, and Maren Robinson pitched a two-hitter.

POLAND 11, CAPE ELIZABETH 9: Leksi Langevin hit a double and triple, drove in two runs and scored twice to lead the Knights (4-8) past the Capers (0-12) in Poland.

The top five hitters in Poland’s lineup — Phoebe Paradis, Langevin, Carly-Ann Jarvis, Olivia Rioux and Brenna Galipea-Eldridge — all had two hits. Paradis drove in two runs and Jarvis scored twice.

Paradis also was the winning pitcher in relief, striking out 10 in 5 2/3 innings. She gave up three hits, three walks and four unearned runs.

Rylie McIntyre doubled and drove in two runs for Cape Elizabeth. Elsie Maxwell hit a single and a double.

BREWER 8, EDWARD LITTLE 7: Paige Oakes recorded five hits and an RBI, and the Witches (8-4) rallied to even the score in the seventh then beat the Red Eddies (7-5) with a run in the eighth in Brewer.

Brewer trailed 7-4 entering the bottom of the seventh, then plated three runs to force an extra inning.

Sarah Young added three hits, including two doubles for the Witches. Emma Jameson (three hits) and Olivia Bragdon (two hits) both doubled and drove in a run.

Nellie Feeney homered and had two RBI for Edward Little, and Kylee Lebrun had a pair of hits.

LEWISTON 7, MT. BLUE 6: Ava Dionne had four hits, including a double, and drove in three runs in the Blue Devils’ (6-6) win over the Cougars in Lewiston.

In the circle, Dionne struck out 10 and gave up nine hits in six innings.

Isabella Enos, Elsie Cloutier, and Haydin Hughes drove in a run each for Lewiston.

Madison Cote led Mt. Blue with four hits, including a double, and three RBI. Leah Merrill and Molly Hambrick had two hits apiece and Chloe Maberry had a double.

GIRLS LACROSSE

CHEVERUS 18, OXFORD HILLS 6: Sophia St. John tallied six goals, Scotlyn Buxton added five goals and two assists, and the Stags (8-2) cruised past the Vikings (2-6) in Portland.

Cheverus also got three goals from Olivia Vigue, two from Sophia Tamulevich, and one each from Jaylee Radford and Taylor Hoglund.

Abby Marcotte led Oxford Hills with three goals. Addisyn Cabral, Lily Hammond and Gracie Hart were the other goal scorers.

CONY 6, LEWISTON 4: Gabby Vachon scored two goals and assisted on two as the Rams (8-3) went to Lewiston and defeated the Blue Devils (1-9).

Abby Morrill added a goal and two assists to the Rams’ victory. Katelynn Dutil, Paige Logan and Casey Monson also scored, and goalie Avery Maxim made five saves.

Anna Courtemanche netted two of Lewiston’s goals, while Lexus Keene and Paige Taylor each scored one. Goalie Hannah Burleigh stopped 16 shots.

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 17, MORSE 7: Stella Stewart recorded six goals and four assists as the Black Bears (7-1) beat the Shipbuilders (6-4) in Readfield.

Alice Ferran and Emerson Davis each added three goals, and Mya St. Pierre scored twice.

Zoe Avery led Morse with three goals and an assist. Libby Reblin netted two goals.

MT. ARARAT 14, MT. BLUE 10: Evelyn Goudreau’s seven goals paced the unbeaten Eagles to a victory over the Cougars in Farmington.

Mt. Ararat (10-0), which is ranked third in the Varsity Maine poll, also received four goals from Islah Godo, two from Mia Madsen and one from Logan Morton.

Bree Griffin, Maya Kellett and Lily Huntley (three assists) each scored three goals for Mt. Blue (6-4). Alaya Smith, Grace Allen, Abbi Donald and Nina Bogar had one apiece.
