On May 20, news sources declared that if Israel fails to allow food and other necessities to enter the ravaged communities of Gaza within “the next 48 hours,” 14,000 innocent children will die of starvation. Israel’s military (mostly supplied by weapons from the United States) has been blockading Gaza, thus causing thousands to die of starvation and military bombings. The U.S. is enabling Israel’s holocaust campaign and is therefore guilty of violating international law.

The Israelis try to “justify” the carnage by falsely claiming that it is supported by Old Testament text because the Jewish people are the “true inheritors” of the lineage that has followed from Abraham. In truth, both of Abraham’s grandchildren — Jacob and Esau — were the inheritors of Abraham, according to biblical text. Jacob, the founder of Judaism, was a “con artist” who deceived his family and stole Esau’s birthright. Esau is portrayed as the founder of the people who now follow the religion of Islam.

The Israelis have no right to claim that Palestine belongs entirely to them; nor does Israel have the authority to commit genocide on the Islamic people who rightfully live in Palestine. The United States must step up and do the right thing by forcing Israel to open Gaza’s borders and allow the Gazans to live in peace and prosperity. We have no legal right and no biblical right to deny the people of Gaza their God-given right to live. We must stop supporting Israel’s genocide.
