We had a few incorrect answers to last week’s Mystery Photo, but quite a few correct ones. Our winner, Ed Barrett, of Lewiston, described the photo in great detail but forgot to mention that it is the new home of the Androscoggin Historical Society. We did not disqualify the former city administrator for the technicality. He identified the correct location. He wrote: “I didn’t even have to think about this one. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the window above the entrance to the Murphy and Coyne Law office at 93 Lisbon Street with 100 Lisbon Street shown in the reflection. The first time I saw 93 Lisbon Street it kind of jumped out at me as this narrow, newer building crunched in between the District Court Building and what is now Rainbow Bicycle. The use of red brick and the shape of the window appears to be, in my view, a somewhat unsuccessful effort to meld this new, small building into the architecture of the court building, although I admit I’m not an architect. At any rate, it’s a good location for an attorney’s office.” Barrett was picked in a random drawing from all the correct entries and will receive a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
