Today 2 million Palestinians in Gaza are being starved to death while a three-month supply of food and other urgently needed humanitarian aid is being blocked by the Israeli army at the border. Israeli warships, for decades, have patrolled the Mediterranean Sea to deny aid from the rest of the world from reaching the people of Gaza.
The people of Gaza don’t need fake humanitarian ruses set up in a few days when they already have been provided aid by the rest of the world for decades.
The world wants to feed Gaza. Israel and the United States want to starve Gaza. Right now it’s that simple.
Under international law and using common sense, forced starvation is an act of genocide. How can it be otherwise? What we are witnessing at the borders of Gaza right now is a crime against humanity enacted by Israel with the full support of the United States government.
Israel has destroyed every university and 85% of schools in Gaza. Our taxes should be going to fund schools and school lunch programs in Maine, not to destroy schools and starve children in Gaza.
