Lisbon put Winthrop/Maranacook away with an 11-run bottom of the fourth inning, claiming a 14-1 victory in five innings in Class C South softball action Tuesday in Lisbon.
Winthrop/Maranacook (4-12) scored in the top of the first inning when leadoff hitter Ella Rice reached base and was driven home by Cyara Harriman. The Rambling Bears’ 1-0 lead held up until the Greyhounds (10-4) plated three runs in the third.
Alivia Saunders led Lisbon’s offense with three hits, three RBI and three runs scored. Brynn Chase had three hits and two RBI, and Aubrianna Bright singled and knocked in two runs.
Greyhounds pitchers Mackenzie Eaton (two strikeouts in four innings) and Ava Kottmann (one strikeout in one inning) combined on a two-hitter.
Rice had both of Winthrop/Maranacook’s hits, including a triple.
CAMDEN HILLS 3, OXFORD HILLS 2: The Windjammers (11-4) scored twice in the first inning, then added an insurance run in the seventh before holding off a comeback bid by the Vikings (12-4) in Paris.
Adrina Pedro hit an RBI single in the first inning and Audrey Strong singled home a run in the seventh for Camden Hills. Maya Stone earned the win, allowing three hits while striking out three and walking three.
Peyton Cleveland produced an RBI single and later scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh. Cleveland also pitched a complete game, allowing four hits while striking out two and walking one.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 4, DIRIGO 3: Lillian Palleschi’s walk-off bunt single closed out a perfect regular season for the Mustangs against the Cougars in Monmouth.
Shannah Parsons pitched a complete game and had three hits for Monmouth (16-0). Rileigh Chase had two hits and scored the winning run.
Dirigo concludes the regular season 11-5.
BASEBALL
LEAVITT 5, NOKOMIS 0: Trent Holst and Ryder Sawyer-Brown combined on a one-hit shutout as the Hornets (7-9) wrapped up their regular season with a big win over the Warriors (10-6) in Turner.
Holst struck out six batters and walked six while holding Nokomis hitless through 5 2/3 innings. Sawyer-Brown fanned two and allowed one hit in 1 2/3 inning on the mound.
Sawyer-Brown also excelled at the plate with two hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored. Randan Hutchinson also had two hits and drove in a run, and he stole two bases. Nick Mellen drove in two runs on one hit, and Landon Marquis added a hit, an RBI and scored a run.
The Hornets, who moved up to seventh in the Class B South Heal point standings after the win, pulled away away with four fifth-inning runs.
Caden Chretian had the only hit for Nokomis, which is third in B North.
