Scarborough High pitcher Erik Swenson was named the Gatorade Maine Baseball Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Swenson, who helped the Red Storm win the Class A state title last season and won 25 straight games before a loss to Marshwood on Monday, pitched 18 consecutive innings earlier this year without allowing a hit. He pitched a perfect game and a no-hitter, and was part of another perfect game.
Last season, Swenson was 7-0 with 74 strikeouts in 45 1/3 innings and was named the 2024 Southwestern Maine Activities Association pitcher of the year.
He plans to play for the University of Maine next season.
