HARTFORD — Selectwomen Kathleen Landry is facing a recall vote during Tuesday’s election at the town hall.
Voters will be casting ballots from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Elected to the board last year, Landry just completed her first year of a three-year term.
Filed March 8 by Jeremy Johnson, the recall petition cites three reasons for the recall:
• Unprovoked harassment in the form of a threat of law enforcement in public, prior to the Nov. 13, 2024, meeting of the ordinance committee, of which Johnson is a member;
• Failure to behave toward community members with integrity and civility and failure to promote trust, cooperation or positive relations as spelled out in the town’s Code of Ethics; and,
• Failure to encourage expression of opinion and open communication, as spelled out in the town’s Code of Ethics.
Landry could not be reached for comment.
If the recall is successful, the town will ask for nomination papers from its citizens before calling a special town meeting to vote on her replacement.
Voters will also have a choice for the Select Board with incumbent Susan Goulet facing a challenge from Aaron Harvey.
