HARTFORD — Selectman Kathleen Landry was removed from office Tuesday during a recall vote.
The vote was 219 for recall and 187 against.
Landry was in the first year of a three-year term on the three-member term.
The petition to recall cited Landry for unprovoked harassment in the form of a threat of law enforcement in public during an ordinance committee meeting, failure to behave with integrity and civility and failure to promote trust, cooperation or positive relations with residents and failure to encourage expression of opinion and open communications.
With the success of Tuesday’s recall vote, the town will ask for nomination papers from its citizens before calling a special town meeting to vote on her replacement.
The Select Board will have a new look going forward. Residents voted out Chairman Susan Goulet, who lost her bid for reelection to Aaron Harvey, 222-177.
Other elections held Tuesday included Alan McNeil winning the road commissioner vote by a 258-144 cushion over David Theriault.
Residents voted 255-139 against the Regional School Unit 10 budget.
The Hartford town meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Hartford/Sumner Elementary School where voters will decide the remainder of the 58 articles on the warrant.
