
Emily Andrews tripled, singled and drove in two runs to pace third-seeded St. Dominic Academy to an 11-1 five-inning win over sixth-seeded Richmond in a Class D South softball quarterfinal Thursday in Auburn.
Chloe Croteau contributed a double and a single for the Saints (12-5), while Leah Shannon, Kassidy Cote, Cassidy Russell each drove in a run.
St. Dom’s pitcher Madeline Andrews allowed four hits in the circle and struck seven in a complete-game effort.
Brooklyn Hooper, Charlotte Crawson, Taylor Johansen and Samantha Leathers all had singles for the Bobcats (7-10).
The Saints next face No. 2 NYA (14-3) in the D South semifinals
LISBON 9, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 2: Sophia Bowie homered, tripled and drove in two runs in the third-seeded Greyhounds’ (13-4) win over the sixth-seeded Phoenix (7-10) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Lisbon.
Mackenzie Eaton and Aubrianna Bright each doubled and singled while recording two RBI for Lisbon. Brooke Norman notched two singles and drove in two, and Brynn Chase had three hits.
Eaton threw a complete game four-hitter with seven strikeouts and four walks.
Devin Bryant and Rylee Turner each had a hit a drove in a run for Spruce Mountain.
Lisbon will face No. 2 Hall-Dale (15-2) in the C South semifinals.
LEAVITT 6, ERSKINE ACADEMY 2: A five-run second inning was more than enough for the Hornets in a Class B South quarterfinal win over the Eagles in Turner.
Reese Bilodeau pitched a complete game with no earned runs allowed for No. 2 Leavitt (14-3). Ashlyn Holbrook had two hits, while Brooke Boutaugh tripled.
Lilly Clark and Kylie Bellows each had two hits for seventh-seeded Erskine (9-9).
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 10, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Rileigh Chase had a triple, a single and three RBI as the Mustangs (17-0) beat the Seagulls (4-12) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Monmouth.
Shannah Parsons allowed one hit, struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter for No. 1 Monmouth, which advances to a semifinal against No. 4 Dirigo on Saturday.
Lila Poussard also had three RBI.
DIRIGO 7, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3: A four-run bottom of the sixth broke a tie and propelled the fourth-seeded Cougars (12-5) to a Class C South quarterfinal victory over the fifth-seeded Falcons (7-10) in Dixfield.
Nikole Turnbull and Emily Woods drove in two runs apiece for Dirigo. Turnbull also tripled, while Lana Waite and Madisyn Bradeen each doubled and Hannah Hamner contributed a pair of singles.
Turnbull was the winning pitcher, striking out four, walking two and allowing five hits.
Kyanah Wing doubled and notched a single for Mountain Valley.
Dirigo will face top-seeded Monmouth (17-0) in the C South semifinals, likely on Saturday.
BASEBALL
GREELY 12, LEAVITT 1: Keeler Vogt struck out seven over three hitless innings and drove in two runs to lead the second-seeded Rangers (14-3) to a Class B South quarterfinal win over the seventh-seeded Hornets (8-10) in Cumberland.
Barron Silver also drove in two runs and Ben Kyles had a single and a double for Greely, which will host sixth-seeded Lake Region on Saturday.
MARANACOOK 3, DIRIGO 2: River Fallos singled home Caldre Glowa in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Black Bears (13-4) past the Cougars (8-9) in a Class C South quarterfinal in Readfield.
No. 2 Maranacook will host No. 3 Monmouth Academy (13-4) at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Dirigo took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a bases-loaded walk and a steal of home by Trevor Crosby. Maranacook scored once in the bottom of the first, then tied the game when Noah Longfellow singled, stole second and third and scored on a wild pitch in the third.
Grady Hreben struck out 10 in five innings for Maranacook. Alex Spaulding pitched three innings of hitless relief to earn the win.
