Ash Rollins raced home from third on an infield grounder to cap a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning as top-seeded Mt. Abram beat fourth-seeded Old Orchard Beach 5-4 in a Class C South semifinal in Salem Township.

The Roadrunners (14-4) will face No. 3 Monmouth (14-4) in the regional final Tuesday at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

Kooper Gervais was working on a three-hitter for Old Orchard Beach before five consecutive Mt. Abram batters reached safely in the seventh. Winning pitcher Kaiden Longley’s second triple of the game made it 4-3, and he scored the tying run on a Bryce Wilcox single.

Wilcox finished with two hits and two RBI.

Wes Gallant and Trot Moody both had two hits and two runs scored for the Seagulls (12-6).

SOFTBALL

BUCKFIELD 10, CARRABEC 4: The top-seeded Bucks (17-1) scored five runs in the fifth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit, then added four in the sixth to secure a Class D South semifinal win over the third-seeded Cobras (15-3) in Buckfield.

Amelia Hill drove in three runs, and Chloee Bennett and Cori Merrill each had two RBI for the Bucks, who will play second-seeded North Yarmouth Academy, which defeated St. Dom’s 4-3 on Saturday, in the regional final on Tuesday. Brittany Carrier was 3 for 4 with three runs scored, and Carmen Crockett pitched a four-hitter with 13 strikeouts.

Carrabec’s Aiyana Tibbetts had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4, ST. DOMINIC 3: Natasha Godfrey hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth inning that was the difference for the Panthers (15-3) in their victory over the Saints (12-6) in a Class D South semifinal in Yarmouth.

No. 2 NYA advances to the regional final and will face No. 1 Buckfield at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.

Cami Casserly had three hits, including a double for the Panthers. Lily Fortin allowed three hits, struck out four and walked two to earn the win.

Maddie Andrews allowed three earned run on seven hits, while striking out four and walking one for third-seeded St. Dominic.

EDWARD LITTLE 7, BREWER 4: The seventh-seeded Red Eddies (12-6) scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to keep their underdog run going by beating the third-seeded Witches (12-6) in a Class A North semifinal in Brewer.

Edward Little will face No. 1 Bangor (14-4) in the regional final Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Central Maine Community College, with has served as the Red Eddies’ homefield the past few seasons.

Edward Little relief pitcher Chloe LeBlanc earned the win by striking out five batters after taking over in the circle in the fifth inning. Starter Kassidy Lobb fanned three.

The Red Eddies pitchers were supported by 16 hits, including three by Lauren Bolduc. Freshman Elizabeth Galway drove in four runs on two hits, and Lexi Kelsea (double), Emily Poulin, Allie Michaud and LeBlanc also had two hits apiece. Lobb and Nellie Feeney each knocked in a run.

Jordin Williams homered, Jillian Ford tripled and singled and Audrey Loupin had two hits and an RBI for Brewer. Pitcher Sara Young struck out five in seven innings.
