LEWISTON — Central Maine Healthcare is reporting that most provider phone lines have been restored following the June 1 cyber outage that led to its systems, servers and computers being taken offline in all of its hospitals.
There is still no estimated timeline for full system restoration.
According to an update from hospital officials Wednesday, “Patients can contact all hospitals and most physician practices. There are a few exceptions where phone lines are still down, most notably the (Central Maine Medical Center) outpatient pharmacies, Central Maine Healthcare Orthopedics and therapy services locations.”
The Cancer Care Center has two functioning lines but if people encounter problems reaching the center they should call the hospital’s main switchboard at 207-795-0111. Information is also available on Central Maine’s temporary website.
St. Mary’s Health System, and its Massachusetts-based parent company Covenant Health, also reported a system outage due to a “cyber incident” about a week before Central Maine’s systems went down. St. Mary’s services are all in operation but it is still working to completely restore its systems.
With systems down at both hospitals, patients have reported barriers to medications, care and other services.
