Regarding Portland’s Arts District crisis, of course there’s a crisis. It costs more to park in downtown Portland than to eat there. I avoid going downtown even though I was born and raised in Portland.
Congress Street was once a pleasant place to visit and take a walk. The cost of parking now negates it. And, the number of disappearing stores eliminates the reason for going. It’s a destruction circle.
