LEWISTON — Casey and Ali Peacock have opened The Blue Feather at 49 Lisbon St. in downtown Lewiston. They are still getting their feet wet, but said Wednesday they are pleased with how the business is shaping up.

The sign has not been installed yet, so look for the door closest to the bank building where Cowbell restaurant used to be.

The inside is spacious and updated with a welcoming bar and seating area. The menu is varied but not overwhelming, with appetizers, handhelds (sandwiches), mains, sides and desserts. Casey Peacock said the shrimp tacos and ahi tuna poke bowls are proving to be popular, and the brunch menu will get your attention — with items like Boston creme pancakes, eggs Benedict, and chicken and waffles to get you started.

The Peacocks describe their restaurant and bar as Maine casual (come as you are), but slightly upscale. The bar serves beer and wine as well as “creative cocktails.” Look for some specials in the near future, including a happy hour.

The Blue Feather has a Facebook page and its website is now up and running at www.thebluefeatherbar.com.

Business hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Sundays from 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
