On Sunday, July 6, the Otisfield Historical Society invites you to enjoy our traditional homemade strawberry shortcake made with handpicked strawberries and homemade whipped cream, and biscuits. The cost of the shortcake is $5. This year, our festival will again be held outside the Bell Hill Meetinghouse on Bell Hill Road from 4-6 p.m. Both the Meetinghouse and the Bell Hill one-room schoolhouse will open their doors for tours during our festival.

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Historical Society invites you to celebrate our 44th anniversary by joining us at our annual Strawberry Festival from 4-6 p.m. on July 6. Our Strawberry Festival, featuring hand-picked strawberries, homemade whipped cream, and biscuits, will be served outside the Bell Hill Meetinghouse at the top of Bell Hill Road in Otisfield. An Otisfield landmark since 1839, the meetinghouse has functioned as both a community center and a church. The building is now owned by the Bell Hill Meetinghouse Association, a group dedicated to historic preservation. Designed by local architect Nathan Nutting, Jr., it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The cost of the shortcake is $5. In addition to enjoying our shortcake, you are invited to explore the interior of the Meetinghouse and Otisfield’s only remaining one-room schoolhouse, both built in 1839. All proceeds will benefit the Otisfield Historical Society, whose mission is to preserve the history of Otisfield for future generations. This year, we hope to add some festive music provided by the Lakes Region Strummers.
