DEAR SUN SPOTS: Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”), at 163 Main St., is having an evening of entertainment and refreshments with a coffeehouse on Saturday, July 12, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Gifted acoustic guitarist Jim Gallant returns to his home town with his mix of catchy originals and masterful interpretations of contemporary music. From Dylan and the Beatles to Bach and blues slide guitar, Jim’s music is uplifting and extremely entertaining.

Admission price of $12 includes shortcake dessert with strawberries and whipped cream, decaf coffee and cold drinks, as well as the entertainment.

Come enjoy an evening in the comfortably cool dining room, using the Mitchell Street entrance. Elevator access is also available via the second entrance on Mitchell Street. Proceeds of the evening will apply to the church’s flood recovery loan. — Carol, Mexico
