I’m responding to an insulting June 29 letter to the editor in which ICE agents were likened to Gestapo officers of Nazi Germany (“Why are ICE agents wearing masks?”). The writer makes a comparison between “uniformed and proud members of the Third Reich” and ICE agents who cover their faces with masks. How dare he make such a comparison.
The officers of Immigration Customs Enforcement serve our nation proudly. I should know, my father is a retired officer.
The writer also lacks an understanding of why these ICE officers wear masks. It is because Democrats have flagrantly — and with ill intent — made public the names and home addresses of ICE agents, deliberately putting these officers and their families in great danger.
So, if the letter writer “sees many more threats against the people standing up for those being pursued,” why does he support those people, also wearing masks? His hypocrisy is too much. He is obviously ignorant to the fact that entering the United States of America in any fashion that avoids a U.S. Immigration and Customs checkpoint is a crime.
I would like to know how many of these immigrants the writer has opened the door of his home to. I’m guessing none.
