I was happy to see that the House of Representatives of the state of Maine recently decided to restore Rep. Laurel Libby’s right to speak. Laurel has proven to be a strong voice for not only her constituents, but also the entire state of Maine. She has brought common sense back to the government.
Laurel stands up and speaks out against the extremist agenda that is ruining our state. When they took away her freedom of speech, they eliminated the representation of many Maine citizens. It was a political tactic to make their point that, if anyone speaks up against their agenda, they will be punished. I’m so proud of Laurel for holding her ground, as she did no wrong. She has stood strong for her freedom of speech and has won this battle. Mainers have regained their voice in the House of Representatives and will be represented in Augusta again.
We must continue to stand strong against these political tactics. But ultimately, what we need is change in Augusta. The only way change will happen is if the citizens of Maine use their voices at the ballot box and vote to put people in office like Laurel Libby, who has a commonsense approach and will stand for our rights and freedoms.
