DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Sunday, July 6, our good friend, mother, grammy, and great gram, etc. will celebrate her 80th birthday. Let’s celebrate with her by giving her a card shower this year. — Marion, no town
ANSWER: The person who sent the original letter sent the wrong street address. Here is the correct information for mailing the cards: Roseanne Newton, 550 Buckfield Road1, Turner, ME., 04282.
Hopefully, some of you Sun Spotters can get a card out before the big day, but I’m sure Roseanne would appreciate belated ones as well. I celebrate my birthday throughout my whole birth month — I highly recommend it!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: The North Waterford Congregational Church at 10 Irving Green Road in Waterford will hold the second supper of the season on Tuesday, July 8, from 5-6:30 p.m.
The menu includes baked beans, chop suey, coleslaw, salads, casseroles, rolls and beverages, with a featured dessert of strawberry shortcake. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.
We will have a supper every two weeks until Sept. 2. On July 22 and Aug. 5, the dessert is strawberry shortcake. On Aug. 19 and Sept. 2, we’ll have homemade pies.
Our dining room is air conditioned and takeout is available. Thank you for helping us get the word out about our suppers. — Milly, Waterford
ANSWER: You are very welcome. I’m always happy to let readers know about fundraising events. Keep doing what you’re doing — those suppers are something good to look forward to.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Danville Junction Grange at 15 Grange St. in Auburn, is sponsoring an Indoor/Outdoor Yard and Craft Sale on Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Tables for rent are available to crafters or to those who wish to turn their treasures into cash. Table rental is $20 and may be reserved by calling Maynard Chapman at 312-5591. Please leave a message and he will get back to you.
There will be raffles, baked goods, baked beans to go, RADA Cutlery, attic treasures, plants, and much more.
The sale is the second one held this summer, as the sale in June was on a rainy day and had low attendance. This time we will hope for a sunny day when we will be able to greet old friends and meet some new ones.
Ms. Sun Spots, you have always been so wonderful at helping us spread the word for all our activities. We at Danville Junction Grange appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. You are, indeed, the best! Thanks so very much! — No Name, Auburn
ANSWER: Keeping the grange going is a noble effort that I will always want to be part of. It makes me feel wonderful to do my little bit to help.
