AUBURN — Rachel B. Randall has announced her candidacy for the Auburn City Council representing Ward 1.

A longtime resident and active community member, Randall said in her announcement that she is “committed to transparency, accessibility, and ensuring every resident of Ward 1 has a voice in shaping Auburn’s future.”
She said her priorities include protecting Lake Auburn, addressing the city’s housing needs, and preserving the character of Auburn’s neighborhoods and natural resources. She said she is a strong advocate for “open communication, collaborative problem-solving, and meaningful community engagement.”
In her announcement, Randall said she has lived in Auburn since 2003, first in Ward 2 and now in Ward 1 since 2019. She and her husband, Scott, live within the Lake Auburn watershed. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.
Randall said she ran a successful home day care before returning to school in 2011, earning her surgical technology certification from Maine Medical Center. She has since worked in operating rooms in Maine and Boston.
In her announcement, Randall said that for more than a decade, she was involved with the Lake Street and Park Avenue PTOs. She also served as a youth group leader and chaperone on mission trips across the country with the United Methodist Church in Auburn. And the family has opened their home to international exchange students from China, Spain, France and Germany.
“I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard for the people of Ward 1 — listening, learning, and fighting for what matters most to our families,” she said.
