DEAR SUN SPOTS: The North Waterford Congregational Church at 10 Irving Green Road in Waterford will hold the second supper of the season on Saturday, July 22, from 5-6:30 p.m.
The menu includes baked beans, chop suey, coleslaw, salads, casseroles, rolls and beverages, and the featured dessert is strawberry shortcake. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12.
We will have a supper every two weeks on Tuesday evenings until Sept. 2. On Tuesday, Aug. 5, we’ll have strawberry shortcake as the featured dessert again. On Aug. 19 and Sept. 2, we’ll have homemade pies.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Chris Branch Golf Tournament will be played rain or shine at Toddy Brook Golf Course, 925 Sligo Road in North Yarmouth on Aug. 4 at 8:30 a.m., with registration and breakfast at 7:30 a.m.
All proceeds go to scholarships for deserving Maine high school swimmers and divers. Chris Branch was Lewiston’s (and Portland’s) public works director, volunteered as a swim coach at the YMCA for years, and served as a Maine swim official for over three decades.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A large indoor/outdoor Rummage and Yard Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St. in South Paris. A bag sale will follow from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Adult and children’s clothes, books, toys, furniture, kitchenware, holiday decor, household items, tools, and much more will be available at very reasonable prices.

ANSWER: October seems like a long way off right now but it’s always best to be prepping early. I have a daughter who does craft fairs and she books herself months in advance. Fall definitely is the busiest time for these events.
