Lucille Cleo Day

NORWAY – Lucille Cleo Day, 93, of Norway, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025. She was born on Jan. 18, 1932, in Livermore Falls, to Harry and Nellie Jennings Day. She was a 1951 graduate of Lewiston High School. Cleo married Randall L. Allard in 1953 and settled in Mechanic Falls. They had four daughters, later divorced. Cleo worked for Reid and Hughes and J.C Penney early in her life and then for Marcal Paper Mills. She retired from Bates College where she worked in food services for a number of years. Her warmth and work ethic left a lasting impression on both students and staff.

A creative spirit, Cleo found joy in painting and quilting. Her beautiful handmade quilts were lovingly shared with her family and will continue to be treasured for generations. She is survived by her children Kim Allard (Wenda), Lee Yates (Mike), and Rhea Kennelly (Bob); four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan.

In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. Cleo’s legacy lives on in the art she created, the family she cherished, and the quiet strength she carried through a life well-lived. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 26 West Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls.
