In a time when Washington often feels broken and divided, it is reassuring to know Maine still has a voice of reason in the U.S. Senate: Sen. Susan Collins.
Thanks to her steady leadership, a commonsense solution was delivered on an issue that could have easily fallen victim to political gridlock. While others focus on making headlines, Sen. Collins quietly does the work, brings people together and gets results. Just as importantly, she puts real thought into every vote she casts. That kind of care and responsibility is rare these days.
She continues to stand up for Maine businesses and our hospitals, making sure they have the resources and support they need to serve their communities. Her advocacy makes a real difference for people and employers across the state.
Too often, politics rewards the loudest voices, not the most effective ones. But Sen. Collins continues to prove that it is possible to be thoughtful, practical and principled and still deliver for the people she represents.
Maine is lucky to have someone in Washington who does not just talk about bipartisanship, she lives it. My thanks to Sen. Collins for being a voice of reason and for getting things done.
