LEWISTON — A man suffered a head injury and possible other wounds Thursday afternoon when his car collided with a dump truck on Goddard Road.

Police shut down a section of the roadway following the 3 p.m. wreck at Goddard Road and Atlantis Way.

A witness said it appeared the driver of the four-door car was traveling on Atlantis Way when he failed to stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of a dump truck being driven on Goddard Road.

The identities of the two drivers were not available as police began a reconstruction of the crash site.

The driver of the car, who had been traveling alone, was taken to a Lewiston hospital, where he was listed in stable condition later Thursday.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the collision.
