
Elaine Marie Dickson
RUMFORD – Elaine Marie Dickson, 83, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington from complications due to illness.
Elaine was born in Rumford to Hector Edmond “Ed” Hanson and Julienne Therese (Doiron) Hanson. She was the oldest of seven children. Elaine graduated from Stephens High School and attended college to study radiology.
In 1962, Elaine married her best friend and love of her life, Thomas Dickson Jr. They built a home in Rumford Center where they raised their two children. Elaine ran the office of TL Dickson Logging and Condor Corporation Trucking, where she worked alongside her husband and her eldest brother, Jim. After retiring, she followed her passion for restoring homes in the Rumford area.
Elaine was an avid reader and loved gardening, spending a great part of her life planting flowers and shrubs around her home. She enjoyed Summers at the family camp in Weld and hosting numerous cookouts and Thanksgiving dinners.
Elaine was predeceased by her parents, husband Tom, brothers Jim Hanson, Dennis Hanson and Jeff Hanson. She is survived by her son Erik Dickson and wife Cheryl, her daughter Erin Manwaring and husband Chris; grandchildren Lila and Ronan; sister Marlena Akhbari, brothers Peter Hanson and Michael Hanson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
At the family’s request, there will be no service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
