What a wonderful article by Mark LaFlamme in the July 29 Sun Journal on the St. Martin de Porres homeless shelter in Lewiston (“Volunteers step up at Lewiston shelter after manager has stroke“).
It showed the hard work led by one man, Jimi Cutting, for the homeless shelter, and how when he became sick, all the people pitched in to help cook the meals in his absence.
The paper gave us the knowledge of his dedicated work and the awareness of his devotion to helping the homeless, as well as the good news of others willing to pitch in to aid these people in need.
It’s local articles like this that I enjoy reading. Making me aware of those who are helping our society, and giving of themselves to make this a better world. My thanks to Mark LaFlamme.
