Kasey Bean scored on a passed ball in the top of the seventh inning and Greater Sanford beat the Philippines, 5-4, in their final pool play game at the Babe Ruth Baseball 13-16-year-old World Series on Monday in Branson, Missouri.
Greater Sanford finished third in Pool A with a 2-2 record Manassas, Virginia in the knockout phase at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Henry Marcotte had a triple, an RBI and a run scored for Greater Sanford. Max Cote was 2 for 2 and scored twice, while Landen Richard added an RBI. Bean also had a double.
Richard pitched three scoreless innings of relief. He allowed two hits, walked one and struck out four.
