ANSWER: I hope you’ll share some photos and tidbits from this gathering.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Just a friendly reminder to our member organizations that the SHAREcenter reopens next Tuesday, Aug. 12, for the 2025-2026 school year. At that time we resume our regular business hours: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. We’ll also resume accepting donations. Please check with your building administration to make sure your school or district membership has been renewed.

Please remember that we’re now located at the Market Place Mall at 675 Main St. in Lewiston, to the right of Fueled by Nutrition. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in the coming weeks and hope all our teachers and support staff have a wonderful school year. — SHAREcenter staff, Lewiston

ANSWER: Wow, the summer has flown by so quickly. But it’s so good to know the SHAREcenter is on the job getting ready to help area educators with their classroom needs.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The J & O Irish Museum on Main St. (Route 140) in Hartford is now open for the summer on Sunday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. all through July and August.

Our next fundraiser will be the Antique Auto Show on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the East Sumner Congregational Church so, please mark your calendars.

Come join us with your antique auto or just to check out the ones that show up. We had over 50 cars last year. No entrance fee is charged and the top four, chosen by the attendees, will go home with a gift basket of homemade jams, relishes and bread.

Thank you, Sun Spots, for all the publicity you give to the Hartford Heritage Society, as we continue to restore the J & O Irish Museum. Also, thank you to everyone who joins us for all our fundraising projects. — No name, no town

ANSWER: This historic building was once one of the first stores in the area and is now used by the Hartford Historical Society as a museum for their collections.

The folks at the museum are always looking for donations, such as antique tools for the barn and items for the store, especially old spice containers or anything that you think would look good on the shelves. The building was a general store that closed in 1953 with living quarters on the second and third floors.
