DEAR SUN SPOTS: A spaghetti dinner benefit is being held for Liana Henault of Turner. She is fighting a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called PEComa.

The dinner will be held at the Boofy Quimby Hall, 96 Howes Corner Road in Turner, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 4-7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children under 12. There will also be a ticket raffle for many nice goodies, and a 50/50 raffle. All funds raised at the benefit will go directly to Liana for medical and travel expenses. Because of the rarity of this cancer, the closest hospital equipped is in Boston.

If you’re unable to attend this event, a donation can be made at GoFundMe.com. Search “Help Liana Fight a Rare and Aggressive Cancer”. Thank you for your support. — Maureen, no town

ANSWER: I’m so sorry to hear about Liana’s diagnosis and wish her all the best. I will remind readers about this fundraiser from time to time so folks can add it to their calendars or visit the GoFundMe site to donate.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a lazy Susan built into my kitchen cabinet. It’s not working right and I’m wondering if there’s anyone in the area who can repair it. — Bob, Norway

ANSWER: Before you contact anyone, be sure there isn’t anything stuck under the rotating shelf. I’m telling you this because recently, my corner cupboard lazy Susan was frozen in place. Upon further inspection, I found a Tupperware lid wedged against the mechanism that prevented the shelf from swiveling out. I managed to remove the offending piece of plastic and all is well once again — for the moment, anyway.

Meanwhile, if there are any handy people who can help our reader if the problem is not as I described above, please let us know!

DEAR SUN SPOTS:  I’m looking for someone who can create three 12-to-14-inch Teddy bears from my mother’s 1939 satin wedding gown. If anyone has the skills and is willing to make these, I sure would appreciate it. I’m willing to travel. — Jan, Rumford

ANSWER: This is a fabulous idea and I’m sure there are more than a few creative sewists in Sun Spots Land who can take on this precious project. Please answer this request if you are the one to take on the job or know of someone who is. Let’s make this reader’s wish come true.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the past two summers, one of the local channels has aired the show, “Only Murders in the Building.” Do you know if the third season will be aired this year? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: This popular show is in its fifth season on the streaming channel, Hulu and will be released on Sept. 9. ABC has aired some of Season One and Two’s episodes but my understanding at this time is that the other seasons can only be viewed on Hulu.

If you want to, you could try out that streaming service seven days for free and binge the show. I know it’s a lot but it can be done!
