DEAR SUN SPOTS: GreenWood Gallery of Maine at 998 Old Danville Road will hold its 12th Annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Every year the gallery invites artists, craftsmen, musicians, writers and other vendors to join the one-day Open House Celebration.

ANSWER: This is a lovely gallery that used to be a workshop and a place where hunters gathered. Now the building has been retired to the old Danville community where Mathias Auger’s great-granddaughter, Anita Poulin, uses the building to exhibit the fine art produced by artists with connections to the state of Maine. This upcoming open house promises to be quite special. Enjoy!

Here is the announcement in its entirety: The Maine Cycling Club is hosting a free demonstration of ebikes (electric assist bicycles) at the Lewiston-Auburn campus of University of Southern Maine, 51 Westminster St. in Lewiston from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept 4.

The demo will be presented by the Bicycle Coalition of Maine. Riders can try out the bikes in a parking lot or venture forth on the road if they feel comfortable. Helmets will be provided.
