DEAR SUN SPOTS: West Auburn Congregational Church is holding its Vendor Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 811 West Auburn Road in Auburn. It will include a white elephant table, raffles, baked goods and hot lunch options. Contact me at 998-2362 — Deb, no town
ANSWER: Craft fair season is coming in hot! Whether you’re a buyer or seller, watch for more information about all the craft fairs in Sun Spots Land. There are so many nonprofits and craftspeople to support, and so many treasures to behold! Consider buying all your holiday gifts from local artists and crafters. You’ll find goodies among all the preowned items too.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: We do not have enough items for a garage sale, but would like to know if there are places in the L-A area to rent a table for a day besides the Riverfront in Lisbon. — No name, no town
ANSWER: Hold tight for a couple of weeks and we should be getting some craft/vendor sale announcements from local nonprofits that are holding fall fundraisers. Usually these organizations rent out tables and/or space for about $20. This is a great way to get involved with different communities and get on lists for future events.
Meanwhile, check in with your local churches, auxiliary, Grange, schools, etc. And Sun Spotters, if you know of anything, give us a shout.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I had forgotten all about the Christmas decorations I wanted to donate to the church in Farmington that takes these types of items. I tried to look it up to check if they were still needing these things but couldn’t find their letter. Do you have it so I could contact them? — Charleen, no town
ANSWER: I just wrote about this very church and their Christmas Fair just the other day, but here is the information again. Before we know it, this special fair will be here once again and hopefully your donations will be on display and sell quickly to benefit the church.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are a group of Lewiston-Auburn “Downton Abbey” fans. We know the new movie is slated to come out Friday, Sept.12, but none of us have been able get more information from Flagship theater as far as times and dates of when it will be playing.
A couple of us were able to reach a live person at the theater, not a robot, but the young attendants had never heard of “Downton Abbey,” so needless to say we got zero information from them. If anyone can get to the bottom of this, it’s you, dear Sun Spots! — No name, Lewiston
ANSWER: According to https://www.showtimes.com/movie-times/downton-abbey-the-grand-finale-180056/auburn-me/, “Downtown Abbey” will run Sept. 11-17. If you go to the link above, you can see the various choices for times. Make sure to select the theater you want and the day you want. Enjoy the show — it looks like a good one!
