Opponents of voter ID like to argue that there isn’t enough evidence to indicate that a few unqualified votes could not possibly affect the outcome of an election in Maine. Did people know that last November some races were decided by only a handful of votes, and that there was a high number of recounts requested because of the closeness of the races?
I remind fellow Mainers that every vote matters and only legal votes should count. That is why I am voting “Yes” for voter ID this Nov. 4. Because free, fair and secure elections are worth protecting.
