Second-half goals by Bryce Champagne, Gaven Parsons and Brayden Monto propelled Buckfield to a 3-1 comeback victory over Sacopee Valley in a boys’ soccer match Saturday in Hiram.
Sacopee (0-1) led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Gavin Pendexter.
Neil Haylock made seven saves for Buckfield (2-0). Sacopee Valley’s Tanner Hale stopped three shots.
LAKE REGION 4, POLAND 0: The Lakers (1-0) got goals from Parker Richardson, Dylan Blair, Sam Burnham and Nico Russo in a victory over the Knights (0-1) at Naples.
EDWARD LITTLE 5, OXFORD HILLS 0: Khalid Mohamed scored two goals to lead the Red Eddies (1-0) in their win over the Vikings (0-1) in Paris.
Will Wallingford, Gustavo Santos and Ngengele Adolphe also scored for Edward Little. Santos added two assists and Breccan Albert one.
Oxford Hills goalie Quincy Edson stopped 12 shots, including, Edward Little coach Max Thompson said, “some excellent point-black saves.”
GIRLS SOCCER
POLAND 3, LAKE REGION 1: Phoebe Paradis netted a pair of goals, leading the Knights (2-0) over the Lakers (1-1) in Naples.
Leski Langevin got the third goal for Poland. Addi Gravel and Alivia Lemieux each were credited with an assist.
Abbi Nadeau scored for Lake Region, assisted by Addison Klimek.
FIELD HOCKEY
BREWER 1, EDWARD LITTLE 0: A first-quarter goal by Abbie Flagg was enough for the Witches (1-0) in a win over the Red Eddies (1-1) at Brewer.
Alleia Richards assisted on the goal. Brewer goalie Abigail Derosier faced only two shots.
Edward Little’s Ruby Harris stopped five shots.
BELFAST 3, LEAVITT 1: Paced by goals from Kaymnn Wadsworth, Sophia Larrabee and Allison Friel, the defending Class B state champions opened their season with a victory over the Hornets (1-1) in Turner.
Savannah Boulay scored in the fourth quarter for Leavitt.
