Led by goals from Carina Castagna late in the first half and Sophia Poulin early in the second half, Leavitt edged Poland 2-1 in a girls soccer contest Thursday in Turner.
Lorelai Simard and Reese Bilodeau were each credited with an assist for the Hornets (1-2), and keeper Hailey Welch made 10 saves.
Alivia Lemieux broke up Welch’s shutout bid with 10 minutes remaining. Payton Blake stopped 11 shots for the Knights (3-1).
BOYS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 2, MT. ABRAM 0: Two first-half goals carried the Cougars to a victory over the Roadrunners in a matchup of Franklin County boys soccer teams Thursday in Farmington.
Nate Zeliger and Avery Kangas scored for the Cougars, and Luc Walker had an assist.
Mt. Blue (3-0) goalie Kooper Keller stopped eight shots, while Mt. Abram’s (1-1) Ben Beaulier made 13 saves.
BUCKFIELD 2, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Austin Verrill gathered a free kick by Ryder Bragg and scored the winning goal in the second half, lifting the Bucks (4-0) past the Phoenix (1-1) in Buckfield.
Blake Austin scored with an assist from Krosby Harvey to give Buckfield the lead in the first half. Maxwell Turner tied it later in the half.
Neil Haylock stopped nine shots for Buckfield, while Blake Gemelli made five saves for Spruce Mountain.
WINTHROP 2, MARANACOOK 0: Keenan Libby and Evan Bilodeau scored second-half goals to lift the Ramblers (1-1) past the Black Bears (1-2) in Readfield.
Nick Wagner had an assist and Gianni Haeflele had nine saves for Winthrop.
Grant Walters stopped eight shots for Maranacook.
VOLLEYBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 3, BRUNSWICK 0: The Red Eddies continued their unbeaten start with a sweep of Brunswick in Brunswick.
The Red Eddies (3-0) won by scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-2. Brunswick falls to 0-3.
Edward Little was led by Elizabeth Galway, Maija Bolduc and Sarah Ebersole at the serve line. In the third set, Bolduc had a 12-point serving streak and Galway had an eight-point streak.
