DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know of a donation site that accepts stuffed animals in excellent condition? Thank you for your service to the community in so many helpful ways! — No name, Auburn
ANSWER: If these stuffies truly are in great condition and cleaned, ask local thrift stores such as An Angel’s Wing (241-0624), Loaves and Fishes Hidden Treasures (333-5100), Alter 207 (577-7942), and homeless shelters that serve families in the area if they will take them.
I read that some local police departments will also take stuffed animals to offer children to comfort them in traumatic situations. Perhaps a children’s center or library could use them. Then there are animal shelters where doggies need stuffie friends to help them feel less lonesome.
If you have more ideas, or know of a specific place where these toys would be welcomed and put to good use, let us know.
