DEAR SUN SPOTS: We’re inviting readers for a fun-filled evening as the 1856 Monmouth Academy Restoration Committee hosts Hometown Humor Night featuring Gary Crocker, Maine humorist and proud Monmouth Academy alum. The event will be held Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Cumston Hall, 796 Main St., at Monmouth. Tickets are $20 each.

If you have a fundraiser coming up, let me know. Just give us plenty of notice so we can get the details to everyone on time. Calendars fill up fast this time of year!
I also want to add that it’s helpful to double-check your information for the correct dates and spelling. Include a contact phone number and/or email if readers need more information or have questions. Please include the information you want to have published in the body of the email or in a WORD document, or in a neatly printed handwritten letter. Refrain from using PDF documents or using icons, art, photos, and extra attachments as I can’t use those items in the column. Thank you!
