LEWISTON — A 14-year-old boy was arrested in Poland on Saturday and charged in connection with a Thursday night shooting on Pierce Street.
The teen is accused of firing off a number of rounds at about 11 p.m. Thursday in a shooting that left a pair of cars and at least one building riddled with bullet holes.
It was believed that no one was struck by gunfire, but the shooting led to a tactical response by police, who surrounded an apartment house at 158 Blake St. in search of the suspect Friday afternoon.
The suspect was not found during a search of that building, though investigators say they seized evidence there.
Police did not say what led them to Poland in their search for the suspect or where in the town the boy was located. Suspects in shootings with no human victims are typically charged with reckless conduct, although the teen may face other charges, as well.
The suspect was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland where he remained on Sunday.
