NORWAY – Dorothy H. Hobbs, 95, passed away July 15, 2021 with family at her side. She was born March 3, 1926, in Damariscotta, the eldest of 3 daughters, to Eben C. and Helen H. Haggett of Newcastle. She attended local schools, graduating from Lincoln Academy in 1942. She married Lawrence E. Weston of Newcastle in 1943, and after their divorce, she and her son Chris, moved to Norway when she married Robert Hobbs.
Always active in sports, she especially enjoyed bowling and golf and was always present to watch her sons, Chris Weston and Eben Hobbs, at their games. Later on, watching her grandchildren play gave her great pleasure. A great friend to many, she spent countless hours transporting them to appointments and events as well as visiting friends and relatives.
She was a member of the Second Congregational Church of Norway and the Heywood Club in Norway.
She was predeceased by her parents; as well as her sisters Anne Pinkham and Marjorie Webster. She is survived by her sons, Chris Weston and his wife Valerie of Norway and Eben Hobbs of Flathead Lake, MT. and Palmetto, FL.; as well as 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 3 nieces; and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford followed by interment at Norway Pine Grove Cemetery in South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.oxfordhillsfuneralservices.com.
