The St. Vincent de Paul Society recently awarded three scholarships to three area students who plan to attend college in the fall. They are David Williams, Ella Boucher and Lucy Frenette.

Williams, the son of Peter and Jennifer Williams, graduated from Lewiston High School. He plans to attend Northern Maine Community College to study electricity. Williams became interested in electricity and spent his last two years at Lewiston Regional Technical Center in the electrical program.

He also studied business because he plans to open his own company after college. He participated in the dual program at the University of Maine System in chich he enrolled in college level courses while at the high school. He has more than a semester’s worth of college credit to start his freshman year with.

Boucher, is the daughter of Brian and Karen Boucher. She graduated from Edward Little High School and plans to attend the University of Southern Maine. There, she plans to concentrated on health science and minor in biology.

She plans to take courses in the medical field in graduate school. Boucher was on the Student Leadership Council all four years of high school. She participated in indoor and outdoor track and varsity soccer where she was captain her senior year.

Frenette, the daughter of Marc and LuAnn Frenette, graduated from Saint Dominic Academy and plans to attend Hofstra University in the fall majoring in public policy. Her goal is to become a lawyer through a special six-year program.

She is a three season athlete playing golf in the fall hockey in the winter and softball in the spring. Frenette was assistant chaplain at Saint Dominic Academy and became the sacristan at the school. She also wat the Mock Trial captain, Key Club president and yearbook editor.
