Millie DeSalle
SCARBOROUGH – Millie DeSalle, 99, of Rumford Center passed away at the Maine Veterans Home Scarborough surrounded by love ones on Dec. 22, 2021. Born in Rumford Maine on Feb. 23, 1922, she was the second daughter of John and Mary (Laurusonis) Kaubris. She graduated in 1940 from Stephens High School. During World War II, she worked in Washington, D.C., 1942-1945 as a secretary in the defense department. Returning to Rumford Maine, she married Frank DeSalle on October 21, 1950 and raised their three children. She worked for McInnnis Insurance company then Drs. Royal, Gorayeb and Makin.
She was communicant of Parish of Holy Savior. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Women group of the Sons of Italy, and her weekly card club. Most of all, she loved her summers at Roxbury Pond surrounded my family. She was an avid reader, knitted, crocheted, game player and sports fan for children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, Peter DeSalle and his wife Jean, Pat McCann, Mary DeSalle and her partner Peter Vermette. Grandchildren Christopher DeSalle, Matthew McCann, Andrew McCann and partner Jess Duguay, Carly Pelletier and husband Jeff. Great grandchildren include Madelyn Boroughs, Dominic DeSalle and Amelia Pelletier. A brother Stan “Ty” Kaubris.
Predeceased by her parents, sister Mary Beauchesne and brother John Kaubris.
